 Joel Scott is an experienced Oil and Gas industry technical contributor and executive with over 35 years of experience executing Oil & Gas exploration and development projects around the world. He spent most of his professional career as a project geophysicist with Occidental Petroleum working in the Americas, Middle East, and Far East. Notable projects include the 100 MMBOE Siriri Field and definition of additional reserves of 200 MMBO in Caño Limón Field in Colombia, acquiring and processing the first successful seismic program over Elk Hills Field in California resulting in additional reserves of >100 MMBOE.  He held corporate and international executive positions including: Chief Geophysicist, VP Exploration & Drilling Operations in Libya during the company's reentry into the country, and General Manager in Bahrain during Oxy's new entry into the country. Most recently, Joel was Manager of Geoscience at Occidental Oil & Gas Corp in Houston. He retired from Occidental Petroleum in December 2014. Since leaving Oxy, Joel has been generating prospects in Texas, Colombia, and Peru as well as evaluating solution-mined salt caverns in Louisiana. He received his B.Sc. in Geophysical Engineering from Colorado School of Mines in 1977. Joel is currently serving as Vice President/President-Elect of the Denver Geophysical Society.
